FAQs

  • What are some of the common issues or areas of focus for the individuals you work with?

I work with clients across a broad clinical spectrum including anxiety, depression, bereavement, eating disorder support, trauma, and abuse. Whether we are addressing a specific crisis or long-standing patterns, we will tailor our work to your unique history and goals.

  • How long do sessions last and how often will I go?

Sessions last 50 minutes and initially I recommend weekly sessions. I offer open-ended therapy with frequent reviews, meaning it can last as long as you feel you would like to work together.

  • How much does therapy cost?

I offer both online and in-person sessions for £85 per hour. The initial consultation is 15 minutes online and is free. This is for both you and I to identify if we can work well together as the therapeutic relationship is an important element our work together.

  • Communication & Crisis Support

How can I contact you between sessions? I can be reached via email for scheduling or brief updates. While I do not provide clinical support via correspondence, I will always acknowledge your message. If you are going through a particularly difficult time, I am open to scheduling additional sessions to provide you with the necessary support.

What should I do if I am in a crisis? Please note that I do not offer emergency or 24-hour crisis support. If you are in immediate distress or require urgent assistance between our scheduled appointments, please contact your local emergency services or a dedicated crisis hotline like Samaritans on 116 123.

  • Accessibility & Inclusion

I am committed to providing a gender-affirming, LGBTQ+ allied, and neurodiversity-inclusive space where your lived experience is centered and respected.

My practice is also rooted in a barrier-free approach, and I view it as a responsibility to ensure therapy is accessible to those with disabilities. I welcome any conversation regarding sensory or communication needs to ensure the environment is supportive and sustainable for you.

  • The First Session & Getting Started

What can I expect when we first begin working together? Our journey usually begins with an introductory call to ensure we are a good fit. If you choose to move forward, I will ask you to complete a few initial steps: an assessment form to help me understand your history, a therapy contract which we can discuss together to ensure you are comfortable with our framework, and a privacy notice.

Is our work confidential? Yes. Providing a safe and private space is fundamental to our work. Along with the contract, I provide a privacy notice so you can be fully assured that our sessions and communication are handled with the highest standard of confidentiality.

What happens in our first full session? The first session is a collaborative space where we begin to explore what has brought you to therapy. We will discuss your goals and how we can best tailor our approach to suit your unique needs. There is no pressure to share everything at once; we will work at a pace that feels sustainable and safe for you.
